Should you get back with your ex? An honest AI checklist

The brain remembers good memories more vividly than bad ones. That's why your ex looks better in your head than they were in real life. Before you reach out, run this checklist honestly.

The 12 questions

  1. Has the specific issue that broke us up actually been resolved — not promised, resolved?
  2. If nothing changed, would I still want to go back?
  3. Am I missing them, or am I missing being in a relationship?
  4. Would I introduce them to my friends today, knowing what I know?
  5. Do I respect who they became while we were apart?
  6. Can I name 3 things they did to grow that aren't just words?
  7. Have I grown too? Or am I returning as the same person?
  8. Am I afraid no one better will come?
  9. Does the thought of them with someone new hurt my pride, or my heart?
  10. If we get back together and break up again, will I regret trying — or regret not trying?
  11. Am I sober right now, emotionally?
  12. Would I be okay if we tried, and it ended in 3 months?

How to read your answers

If most answers were honest "yes"es with real evidence, reconciliation might be worth a careful try. If they were "well, sort of" with mental gymnastics, you're not ready. That's not a failure — it's a signal.
